Panoramic MTB in Villars

Nestled in the heart of the Vaud Alps, Villars-sur-Ollon and Gryon are must-visit destinations for mountain bike and e-bike enthusiasts. These mountain villages offer a true cycling paradise for all levels, combining preserved nature, a diversity of itineraries and modern infrastructure.

The region boasts a wide range of spectacular trails winding through forests, colourful alpine meadows and stunning viewpoints.

The itineraries stand out for their variety: some are intended for beginners with wide, accessible paths; others are aimed at experienced mountain bikers looking for technical challenges or challenging descents, such as the legendary Maxi Avalanche or the Villars DH track.

Whether you ride with family or sporty friends, each outing offers an immersion in alpine nature and promises spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.

Emblematic routes for everyone

La Panoramique: Accessible and not very technical, this circuit lets you discover Lake Bretaye, the Col de la Croix and its gypsum formations, down to the forests along the Gryonne, all punctuated by panoramic views of the valley.

Le tour des crêtes (E-bike): This loop starting from Villars, Gryon, or Les Diablerets is a must. It leads to Taveyanne, the Col de la Croix, and Lake Chavonnes, with numerous viewpoints and charming stops like the listed hamlet of Taveyanne. The route includes sections with charging stations, adapted to modern E-bikes.

Gryon Bike Park: Recently renovated, this terrain located at Barboleuse offers 6 lines to progress in MTB, with modules, bumps, and a "tricks" section on wood chips to learn jumps, whatever the experience.

A region adapted to E-bikes

Thanks to a large network of charging stations and itineraries designed for electric bikes, it is easy to cover long distances without fear of breaking down.

The terrain thus becomes accessible to everyone, and the pleasure of evolving in this alpine setting is tenfold, whether for a contemplative outing or a sporty adventure.

Services, access, and advice

The region is equipped to welcome cyclists: modern equipment rental, specialised shops, train transport to the heights (for example, Villars–Bretaye), and an opening period from mid-June to late October to make the most of the trails.

Wearing a helmet, gloves, and carrying a repair kit is strongly recommended, and it is important to respect signage as well as share the space with hikers.

Whether you are a seasoned mountain biker, a downhill fan, an E-bike touring lover, or a novice eager for new horizons, the Vaud mountains will meet all your expectations.
